With great sadness, my (Ty Bair) mother-in-law lost her battle with cancer, therefore, Advantage Lancaster wishes to honor her memory, by helping spread awareness about cancer, raising money to fight cancer and give back to our community by participating in revitalizing projects. The revitalizing day is called Ruth Thomas day of Caring (A day that all Advantage Lancaster students, staff, parents/guardians, and community members make a community better). This day is dedicated to Ruth Thomas a wonderful Wife, Mother, Mother-in-Law, Daughter, Sister and Grandmother! Since 2011 Advantage Lancaster has donated over $30,000 to date Over the seven years Advantage has made donation to:
- American Cancer Society
- Tour-de Pink (fight against childhood cancer)
- Ann Barshinger Center
- The Healing Journey Foundation
Pink Lancaster Day is the fourth Wednesday in the month of October declared by the Mayor of Lancaster.
